Last year was a big year for one of our researchers, Dr. Hance Ellington. In fall of 2020, Hance started a new position as Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, and he is quickly developing his own research program there. Hance published a number of papers while he was a postdoc, the most recent being his movement analysis of coyotes in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, where we have investigated the cause of human-coyote conflicts (link to article). It is also noteworthy that his paper on the movement ecology of Chicago coyotes was published in 2019, was featured on the cover of the journal with one of Jeff Nelson's photographs (view journal). We are so lucky that Jeff has been a tremendous resource by taking the most amazing images of the research.
