Emily Zepeda, PhD

Post-Doc Researcher, The Ohio State University

Dr. Zepeda began collaborating with the Cook County Coyote Project during her PhD research at the University of California, Davis. Her work focuses on relationships between humans and coyotes, including how indirect human influences—such as urban infrastructure and broader social systems like wealth—shape coyote movement and survival. She has also examined how direct interactions with coyotes influence human attitudes toward the species. As a postdoctoral researcher in Stan Gehrt’s lab at The Ohio State University, she uses high-resolution human activity data to investigate how coyotes respond to human activity across the Chicago metropolitan area.
